You will be asked some information about yourself and your
health relevant to the consultation you have chosen. The consultation is free and
does not mean that you will be obliged to buy anything. The information that you
provide will be stored securely and only shared with a UK registered doctor. It is
important that you are honest and answer questions as completely as you can.
If you know what treatment you need because it has been previously prescribed for you, you
will be able to request that treatment.
We will email you with your Private Meds doctor’s diagnosis
and ask you to login to view the treatments that the doctor has authorised for you, if
any. This will normally happen within 1 working day.
If you wish to order any of the treatments the doctor has
authorised for you, you can now do so. At this stage you will also be provided
delivery options. We will check your credit card details and then a prescription
for the medication you require will be written by your PrivateMeds doctor and sent
to our UK registered pharmacy to be dispensed.
We will deliver you medicines to your chosen delivery
address. We will deliver medicines in a discreet parcel which will have to be
signed for on receipt. Delivery within the UK will normally be the day after you
place your order provided you order before 2pm. Delivery into Europe will
normally be within two working days.
If you wish to order further supplies, you can do
so simply by reviewing your consultation and confirming it is still accurate.
You will then be able to order more medication.
Tips for safe purchasing of online medicines:
You have a choice of where and how you gain access to prescription medicines, but doing so
on the internet can be a minefield. In order to protect your health and ensure that you
do not get ripped off with no chance of compensation we recommend that you stick to a few
simple guidelines to reduce your risk.
- Always choose a UK registered business with a clearly stated UK address and telephone number. If you choose to shop abroad the laws and professional ethical guidelines that protect you in the UK will not apply. If something goes wrong, you need a clear place to contact and complain
- Ensure the company you choose are working with a Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain registered UK Pharmacy which dispenses guaranteed UK genuine medicines.
- Check that the doctor who undertakes your consultation is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.
- Avoid companies and websites that offer to sell you prescription only medication such as Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, Acomplia, Propecia, Champix and Tamiflu without a medical consultation and the production of a legal prescription to a pharmacy for checking and dispensing by a qualified pharmacist
- Look for companies that look after you AFTER you have ordered. It’s important that you are checked a while after you start taking any medication to ensure that you have no problems. This is recommended by the GMC guidelines for online consultation
- It is NOT illegal to display a price list for medicines or a medical service, however it is illegal to make claims of medical effectiveness for a prescription only medicine to a member of the general public
- It is always best to advise your normal doctor of all medicines that you are taking as they can interact with other medicines he may wish to prescribe for you
