Cialis (tadalafil) works by relaxing the blood vessels to the penis so allowing better blood flow and takes about 30 minutes to get to work but may take longer to work if taken with a heavy meal as this stops the medicine getting into the blood stream. It remains effective for up to 36 hours. This is where Cialis differs from the other impotence drugs Viagra and Levitra which last up to 5 hours.
Cialis (tadalafil) works in most men no matter how long they have had erection problems, how bad their problems are, how old they are or what caused the problems. It has been studied in thousands of patients and used successfully by millions. About 20% of men with erection problems will not respond to Cialis.
When you take a Cialis (Tadalafil) tablet the following happens in your body:
- Cialis is a PDE-5 inhibitor it enters your bloodstream and flows through your body
- It inhibits the enzyme PDE-5 that attacks the chemical cGMP
- The chemical cGMP relaxes the artery walls in the penis, so blood can flow.
- The flowing of the blood through the penis causes erections.
- Your penis inflates with blood, and your are able to achieve a full erection
Cialis (tadalafil) should only be taken if prescribed by a registered doctor. This is because Cialis can be dangerous if you take it at the same time as certain other medicines including some that are used to treat chest pain (angina) and lower blood pressure (alpha1-blockers, such as doxazosin), high blood pressure or prostate problems. In addition, some men may not be well enough to have sex because of the extra strain it puts on the heart and so Cialis is unsuitable.
The usual starting dose for Cialis 10mg. If 10mg is not effective and side effects are not problematic then a Cialis 20mg dose should be tried after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist. You should not take more than 20mg of Cialis a day as this will not give a greater effect but does increase the risk of side effects.
CIALIS ONCE A DAY - Now available

The dose may be decreased to Cialis once a day 2.5mg if required should side effects occur with 5mg each day.
